Thanks for sharing.

What ink do you use in what I'm assuming is a Moleskine?

Bart: I use Waterman cartridges for my cartridge fountain pens. I use Parker bottled ink for all my other pens--including the Mont Blanc pictured here. I also have several inexpensive Lamy fountain pens for which I use the Lamy cartridges.

Dr. Grant: Thank you. One more question, please. The red ink in the picture, which ink brand & are you satisfied with it.

I've been enjoying Lamy Black and Lamy Blue for safe, everyday note jotting, to-do lists, etc. My bottled inks include: Noodler's Lexington Gray for my prayer journal; Private Reserve Velvet Black for my MB for letter writing; and for my journal, I use Sheaffer Skrip Jet Black in a 1956 Sheaffer Snorkel Clipper passed down from my mom which she received from my dad for high school graduation. Sometimes for underlining & marginalia, I enjoy using Private Reserve Copper Burst in an inexpensive Dollar 717i demonstrator.

Bart: The red is Lamy's--it is a bit too bright for me. In the past I have used a nice Waterman crimson, but it is no longer sold in the US. Waterman also has a wonderful blue-violet that is very close to the ink Spurgeon used to write his books and journals but I can't find it any more in the US either. I am planning to be in Europe and the Middle East this winter so I hope to be able to pick them up then.

Very nice camera work! It's fun, isn't it?

Dr.Grant
I was wondering what the name of the art print over the side table with the nest may be?
Thanks!

Brent: It is a 19th century painting, "Family Prayer," by George A. Reid.

Hi-
I realize this post is a year and a half old but...

I stumbled upon your site while trying to find a print of Family Prayer by George Reid. Do you mind me asking where you obtained yours?

Thanks so much-

KR: I got mine more than a decade ago from Reel to Real Ministries in Canada following the publication of their book, "Canada: Portraits of Faith," which used the image on the cover.
